The name "Cool Tool" stands for a web based calculation-service offered by Bayer MaterialScience and aids in the design of mold cooling systems.

The program is based on analytical equations. The process is based on the use of a segmented cooling channel layout. The cooling channel layout is broken down into one sided cooling channel segments. The user can manipulate various parameters to meet the specific cooling requirements. This involves calculating mean

• > cavity wall temperature
• > water temperature
• > and the separation distance needed between the cooling channel and the cavity wall.

Cool Tool is available to qualified users after a one-time registration (see above right).
