2002/96/EG - "WEEE" - Directive

EU Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment (“WEEE-Directive”) is regulating the recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
A few of our Makrolon®, Makroblend® and Apec® grades contain a non-regulated brominated flame retardant. We would like to make you aware of the parts identification requirement for these grades to allow a selective treatment according to Annex II.
Please compare to our Confirmation for the European Directive 2002/95/EC (WEEE).

2003/11/EG – Restriction Directive

Our engineering plastics like Apec®, Bayblend®, Makroblend® and Makrolon® comply with the requirements of the directive 2003/11/EG, amending for the 24th time Council directive 76/769/EWG relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of certain dangerous substances and preparations (pentabromodiphenyl ether, octabromodiphenylether), as stated with the Confirmation for the European Directive 2003/11/EC.
