A new development in the electrical sector is extruded cable conduits and conductor rails in flame-retardant, halogen-free Bayblend® FR3030, which comply with the following requirements set out in regulations and standards²⁾:

With its outstanding fire resistance and secondary fire phenomena (smoke density and smoke corrosiveness), this PC/ABS material, which does not pose any risks in ecological and safety terms, is eminently suited to minimizing the extent of fire damage and consequential fire damage in the form of corrosion and contamination.
The use of halogen-free cable conduits is thus recommended especially in “safety-sensitive areas”, such as high-rise buildings, office buildings and highly-frequented public facilities, including airports and schools
