Bayer MaterialScience has developed Bayblend^® DP FR 3006, a special-purpose PC/ABS-FR housing material designed to meet the demands of the fast-growing LCD flat TV market, a dynamic segment driven by the innovative designs of sector-specific trendsetters.

Thanks to successful cooperation between one of the world’s leading OEMs and know-how providers in this market and an interdisciplinary team of engineering, marketing and development experts from Bayer MaterialScience, it was possible to carry out targeted, application-specific product screening of Bayblend^® DP FR 3006 within a very short time.

The time saved enabled all the relevant mold-proving and acceptance tests to be carried out in time for the current 2007 and the new 2008 models in what is a highly competitive market.

Bayblend^® DP FR 3006 offers a balanced combination of product properties:

As a result, Bayblend^® DP FR 3006 is able to cover an exceptionally broad spectrum of housing components for TV sets ranging from 15 to 63 inches while guaranteeing consistent design and functionality characteristics.

With its broad processing window, specially formulated DP FR 3006 can be processed using conventional methods and cutting-edge technologies such as RHCM (Rapid Heat Cycle Molding), and is already successfully used today for the volume production of components with high-gloss surfaces.

A network of regional production sites guarantees the worldwide availability of a consistent quality product with a high degree of supply flexibility for both global and regional customers.
